About

The Crew in Blue has answered the phone from 407 State Street since 1902.

Third generation, family run. Carey Ross is President and Michael Ross is Vice President, continuing what the Ross family started more than 120 years ago.

Since 1902

Four generations on one block

City Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning opened in 1902 and has stayed on the same downtown St. Joseph block since. The company is family owned and now in its third generation, with Carey Ross serving as President and Michael Ross as Vice President.

That is over 120 years of the same family answering the same kind of call: a blocked drain, a dead furnace, a building that needs its air handled properly. The trucks and the trades have changed a great deal since 1902. The address and the family running it have not.

The tagline

The Crew in Blue

The tagline is on the vans, on the storefront sign, and in the window display at 407 State Street, where REME HALO units and Carrier equipment sit behind the glass for anyone walking down State Street to see. The building is a real showroom, not just an office with a sign on the door.

Here are six of them, quoted as written.

I had an issue with my sub pump. I called and they came out within the day and replaced it. Respectful, clean, and good communication. Plumbing is expensive but price was fair IMO. Would use service again.

New Furnace and AC installed. Both great quality products the techs that installed it did a great job were respectful on time and did a good job cleaning up. Happy with how everything turned out and the extra steps they took to make sure we were satisfied. They took the time to teach us how to use the new thermostat and made sure we had no further questions or concerns before leaving.

Good morning...my water heater failed yesterday morning around 6:45am and of course I was in somewhat of a panic...40 gallons of water were spewing everywhere. I called Jim first and he was able to assist me in just knowing how and what to turn off. I called City and they had a very knowledgeable and friendly tech at my home at 8:30a and was done by noon. Thank you for coming to the rescue.

Called in the morning, Josh arrived just after noon and before 2pm everything was flowing and functional again. Great, prompt service at a reasonable price!

I have used City Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning on multiple occasions. They are complete professionals. Today Andrew made a service call on our tankless hot water heater. He spent the time to understand them problem and remedy it.

Mark Goblevia Google

Andrew went out of his way to repair a blower motor that is no longer available and has restored our air conditioning. Knowledgeable and friendly service. We will definitely use them again.
